Little Light Music
Walking to the Sea

Feel the sand and hear the rolling of the waves
On the beach where you and I used to play.
I would bring my pail and shovel,
You would bring your toys,
Every sunny day
Walking to the sea.
Often I would build a secret magic castle
And make believe to all that I'm a valiant king.
Something in your smile had told me
You should be my queen,
On a sunny day
Walking to the sea.
(Refrain:)
I woke Monday morning
And I'm thinking all's the same.
And, without warning then,
Tomorrow is today.
Where has it gone before us?
Where can it be?
The tide washes everything away,
The tide washes everything away.
Later through the years
We'd dream of how to fly,
Watch the sun go down
And paint the evening sky.
Nothing seemed to stand before us
In that golden time
On a quiet road
Walking to the sea.
We would stroll alone
All night upon the dune
With the bay reflecting
Sparkles of the moon.
Something in your eyes,
Like the starry sky,
Echoed in my heart
You belong with me.
(Refrain:)
I heard you're living
Somewhere in L.A.
And formerly the wife
Of someone from the Cape.
It's funny how it goes,
Crimes of destiny,
Fate in its time
Has taken you from me.
But in my heart
Still lives our world upon the dune
And I can't help saying
That I'm in love with you.
If you hear my voice,
Wherever you may be,
Meet me on the way
Walking to the sea;
Meet me once again
Walking to the sea.
